Hey! I’ve been doing something I think you’d love. I’m a Red Bag donor with Food For Neighbors — five times during the school year I fill a bag of groceries from a simple list and leave it on my porch. Volunteers pick it up and it goes straight to teens at local schools the same weekend. Easy, local, and it really matters. Want to join me?www.foodforneighbors.org/red-bag-program
LET SOMEONE KNOW HOW EASY IT IS TO VOLUNTEER
I’ve been volunteering with Food For Neighbors and I keep thinking — this is something more people in our community should know about. On Red Bag Days, volunteers sort donated food and deliver it straight to local schools same day. Teens who need it have it when they get to school on Monday. It’s one of those things where you can actually see the difference you’re making.
If you’ve been looking for a way to give back that’s real and close to home, this is it.

ENCOURAGE SOMEONE TO JOIN THE RED BAG PROGRAM
Did you know there are teens in our own community who don’t have enough food at home? I didn’t either until I joined the Red Bag Program with Food For Neighbors. Five times a year I fill a bag from their grocery list and leave it on my porch — that’s all it takes. Thought you might want to be part of it too. foodforneighbors.org/red-bag-program

Neighbors Helping Neighbors: The Power of One Red Bag
What if helping a local teen facing hunger was as simple as filling one grocery bag?
Through the Food For Neighbors Red Bag Program, neighbors across Northern Virginia help students at 60 middle and high schools who may not have enough food on weekends and school breaks.
It’s simple. Just five times a year, you fill a Red Bag (that Food For Neighbors provides) with items from their grocery list and leave it outside your front door on the designated days. Our volunteers collect the bags, sort the food, and deliver the donations to local school pantries.
Filling a Red Bag takes just a few minutes. But when that act is repeated by donors across our community, something remarkable happens. More than 30,000 pounds of food reaches local schools in a single weekend, supporting more than 12,000 teens who need it most.
If you’ve been looking for an easy way to make a meaningful impact right where you live, this is it.
